Education

1988 – Graduated from Kuibyshev Medical Institute, Military Medical Faculty, Samara.

1990 – Completed internship in surgery, Riga.

Research activities

Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences.

He has 115 scientific printed works, is the author of 12 Ukrainian patents for inventions, 2 methodological recommendations for doctors, is the co-author of 1 educational manual and 1 monograph.

Work Experience

Since 2001 he has been dealing with surgical treatment of obesity; can perform a full range of weight loss surgeries. All bariatric operations are performed by him laparoscopically (via abdominal incisions).

In 2010, first in Ukraine, performed a single-port laparoscopic cholecystectomy (through one incision).

In 2010, he developed practice guidelines Surgical Treatment of Metabolic Syndrome and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

In 2012, first in Ukraine, he performed a laparoscopic gastric bypass, which is considered the “gold standard” for the surgical treatment of morbid obesity (BMI more than 50 kg/m2).

Honored Doctor of Ukraine (2013).

Chief specialist for surgery, Department of Health Care, Kyiv City State Administration (Since 2016).
