The department employs gynecologists with specialization in ultrasound diagnostics, they certified and audited annually by the Fetal Medicine Foundation.
assessment of individual risks for possible fetal chromosomal aneuploidies and later complications of pregnancy;
testing for possible abnormalities and pathological conditions of the unborn baby that may need treatment before birth, or sustained attention, or treatment after birth;
invasive diagnostic procedures (chorionic villus sampling – placenta tissue sampling at 11–12 weeks of gestation, amniocentesis - sampling of amniotic fluid that surrounds the fetus at 17-19 weeks of gestation, cordocentesis - umbilical blood sampling after 20 weeks of gestation);
